True tales and tall tales flow together in this "blue collar gothic spoken word folk opera." David Kodeski's childhood memories and Naomi Ashley's heart-felt music mix to create a charming, sometimes sentimental and often embellished retrospective of life in idyllic Niagara Falls. What could be described as a barely noticeable town in the shadow of one of the world's most recognized natural wonders is painted in vivid color by Kodeski's tales of wild girls and boogeymen.
Featuring: Heather Riordan (accordion), Cathie Van Wert (violin), Michael Krayniak (bass) and Paul Bivans (drums).

03.05.14: THE REVIEWS ARE IN!
A beautiful review of Trying to Fly on the blog Escape Into Life by poet Kathleen Kirk. Read it HERE .
Another great review from the UK music blog Leicester Bangs: "Indeed Trying To Fly sounds just wonderful. The instrumentation is fulsome and rounded, and Ashley sings her songs with a hushed passion that's wonderfully seductive; and shares a certain tone with the vocal stylings of Lucinda Williams' mellower moments." Read the full review HERE .
And yet another rave review from Belgium's #1 Roots Music Site ROOTSTIME.BE ."Six years afterAnother Year Or So we can only conclude that Naomi Ashley is still writing and singing beautiful songs." Click HERE for the full review.

11.19.13: Recommended as the most effective way to kick off the Season by the Bing Crosby Memorial Associaton For How to Do the Holidays Right: It's the 4th Annual Ron and Naomi's Christmas Special. Once again, local singer/songwriters Naomi (The Prettiest Elf) Ashley and Ron (Mr. Christmas) Lazzeretti ring in the season in the grand and time-honored tradition of the television Christmas special.
Will the Longfellow Larks Children's Choir be making another glorious appearance? Of course they will. Will we be brought to laughter and tears by our old friend Cayne (Another Auld Lang Syne) Collier? Why yes, we will. Will Hoops McGee stir something inside you besides Christmas Spirit? Count on it.
But all that beautiful tradition aside, there'll be new pleasures as well. Like the infamously hard-living, God-fearing Famous Brothers. The real Mayor of Oak Park and the man who put the Ball in Cannonball, Mr. Terry White. The one-of-a-kind song stylings of Mike (The Dentist) Johnson. Plus more surprises than a regulation size stocking can hold. It's all held together by the nation's leading holiday house band, the Downsized Elves (Andon Davis, Michael Krayniak, Paul Bivans, Brian Anderson and Cathie Van Wert.) The Longfellow Larks step onto the stage at 8:30 PM sharp. This is going to be the Best Christmas Ever!"
